Overview: The Prescription Journey

A digital prescription goes through the following steps in the RxScale Pharmacy Tool:

  1. The prescription is received and appears in the list

  2. The pharmacy reviews and downloads the prescription

  3. The prescription is marked as In Progress

  4. The order is either completed or rejected

The individual steps are explained briefly below.

1. Receiving a Prescription

As soon as a digital prescription is received, it automatically appears in the prescription list.

In the overview, you can see key information such as:

  • Prescription status

  • Patient and prescribing doctor

  • Number of ordered items

  • Billing and delivery address

  • Creation and last update date

This allows you to quickly identify new prescriptions that need to be processed.

2. Downloading and Reviewing the Prescription

You can download the prescription using the Download button.

  • The prescription is downloaded as a ZIP file

  • The ZIP file contains a PDF document

  • The PDF includes all relevant information about:

    • the prescription

    • the prescribed products

    • the order details

This document is the basis for further processing.

3. Marking a Prescription as “In Progress”

Once you start working on a prescription, you can mark it as In Progress using the blue button.

Why this matters:

  • Other users can see that the prescription is already being processed

  • Duplicate processing is avoided

The prescription status is updated accordingly.

4. Completing an Order

After the order has been fully processed, you can complete it using the checkmark button.

  • The prescription status changes to Completed

  • The order is considered successfully processed

5. Rejecting an Order (Optional)

If a prescription cannot be processed (for example, if a product is unavailable), you can reject the order.

  • Click the red cross button

  • The prescription status changes to Cancelled

Summary

  • Digital prescriptions automatically appear in the list

  • Prescriptions can be downloaded and reviewed

  • Prescriptions are marked as In Progress during processing

  • Orders are either completed or rejected
